Creating the Buzz

How many times a day do we check our Facebook or Twitter updates? Where do we go for the juiciest gossip or "go-to" insight on the latest happenings and trends? More often than not, the solution to modern day problems are solved on the web. Young people especially can hardly go a day without being "plugged in". So of course my first instinct when trying to get the word out about LiteWork was to promote my events using online forums. The result: I've gained support via the Twitter and Facebook page and was even featured on a couple of blogs! Not too bad...

New Beginnings: Recap

Now that summer is over and Fall is in full swing, I have a minute to sit and reflect on my new venture! I decided that Boston was lacking in opportunities for young, urban professionals to interact and connect and did something about it. I started LiteWork Events to create social networking opportunities and provide a non-club setting for making connections. I was a little nervous at first but the challenge of it all is both rewarding and exciting! I enjoyed the opportunity to sort of "test the waters" by hosting three summer events and got to work on some amateur skills in the process; I made my own flyers (again lol), created the website on my own, and a whole lot else in between. As time went on I picked up on ways to improve- like integrating interactive ways to get people talking and pulling in the help of my friends to help ease the workload. It's still very much a work in progress but take a look at what I've accomplished so far!
